Who We Are
Grey Bear Technologies was founded by Alex Free. With a background in Electrical Engineering, Alex has spent his career working in the machinery and industrial automation industry. He began as an Applications Engineer, where he learned the industry by providing direct customer support and training. Soon after, he moved into the role of a Controls Engineer, where he used his knowledge and experience to create custom solutions for customers. This included internal tools used by the company, as well as tailored solutions developed to meet customer specified criteria.
In 2021, Alex decided to leave his position with a machinery manufacturer to pursue Grey Bear Technologies. Having seen the scarce amount of engineers with the knowledge and experience level required to swiftly implement reliable production and automation solutions, he saw an opportunity to provide a much needed service.

We have partnered with Hier Thinking in order to bring educational and community resources into the Grey Bear family. Hier Thinking provides one of the only FANUC FOCAS blogs in existence, and we hope it will be a resource to our customers who wish to learn more about the technologies that drive their production.
